Travel in the Chocoland First launch of “Chocolate Guided Tour”

From January 23 until March 1, Harbour City will host its annual mega event “Chocolate Trail.” Harbour City will transform into “Chocoland” and launch its first-ever “Chocolate Guided Tour.” Shoppers can experience and explore various cultures heavy into chocolate from around the world, understand the “Bean-to-Bar” chocolate production process, learn how to “taste” chocolate to ensure maximum flavor, as well as visit different chocolate brands in our “Chocoland”.

 

 

Chocolate Master Chef Live Demonstration

With his unique art form “Pencil vs Camera”, renowned Belgian multi-disciplinary artist Ben Heine shook the art world by combining photography and illustration exquisitely to blur the boundary of virtual and reality. Inspired by the theme chocolate, Ben Heine has created a new series of “Pencil vs Camera” artwork to be exhibited in Gallery by the Harbour at Ocean Centre, for Harbour City 2015 Chocolate Trail, leading visitors onto a mesmerizing journey of the birth of chocolate. Visitors will be immersed in a sweet fantasy to realize the evolution of love. The exhibition will also turn one of Ben Heine’s artworks into a 3D art installation, for visitors to step in and be part of his art, giving visitors a new revelation in their experience of appreciation of art.

Impromptu Performance

Ben Heine will visit Hong Kong on Jan 21st to 26th, 2015 and give a performance at Gallery by the Harbour, an impromptu on “Flesh and Acrylic”, another unique art form of his, simulating the movement of chocolate fluid to elaborate his perspective of “Journey of Love”. Ben will make an acrylic painting over a large wood panel by blending in a model in an improvisational way.  The texture of acrylic working together with the model will bring out multiple layers of beauty to touch your heart.  

Taste what you’ve just seen…

Delivered by a Belgium partnership, in this exhibition, Ben will work together with globally-renowned Galler Chocolatier, the royally-appointed chocolate supplier for the Belgian Royal Family, to transform love into chocolates of various flavor. Not only will visitors be satisfied by Ben’s chocolate artwork visually, Galler Chocolatier will supply real chocolates to satisfy visitors’ sense of taste on this amazing journey.

Chocolate Guided Tour

With the theme of “Bean-to-Bar”, shoppers can participate in different “Chocolate Guided Tours” which are tailor made for Family, Chocolate Lovers and Couples, etc. There are various activities in each “Chocolate Guided Tour”, including “Chocolate Factory” giant installation, Chocolate workshops and seminars, live demonstrations by chocolate Master Chef and Chocolate-themed art exhibition, etc. (The Details of “Chocolate Guided Tour” will be released soon)

“Chocolate Factory”

To further showcase the “Bean-to-Bar” production process of chocolate, the Atrium II and corridor of Gateway Arcade in Harbour City will transform into a Chocolate Factory - from planting a cocoa tree to fermentation, drying, roasting, cracking & winnowing and moulding. “Chocolate Experience Gallery” and “ChocoVan Café” will be also set up so that everyone can become a chocolate expert and taste different types of World’s Awarded Chocolate.

 

 

Chocolate Workshop and Seminar

Harbour City has invited several chocolate experts and foodies to host chocolate related workshops and seminars, including chocolate lover and tutor Ms. Katie Chan, Nutritionist and Author Ms. Gloria Tsang and Tea Master from Fook Ming Tong, etc. Whether you’re a chocolate lover or not, you will be interested to know more about the culture of chocolate, how to taste chocolate like a professional and explore more unexpected chocolate combination in an unusual way. The First Launch in Chocoland

The First Launch of “The Royal Touch” (England) and “zChocolat” (France) in HK

Chocolate lovers can taste different gourmet chocolate brands from all over the world in “Chocoland”. Harbour City will host around 30 different chocolate brands from all over the world during the Chocolate Trail promotion period, besides those existing 17 chocolate brands; there will be 10 pop-up stores of various international chocolate brands, including the first launch of “The Royal Touch” from England and “zChocolat” from France.
