A professor from Hong Kong University suggested, emphasizing the best decisions of women before pregnancy, first make a detailed oral examination, for example, to pay special attention to periodontal disease, tooth decay and wisdom teeth problems, so early diagnosis and treatment can be effective in reducing pregnancy teeth unnecessary trouble. In addition, pregnant women should change their eating habits, meal frequency from the 1 day 3 meals into around 6-7 meals, and should avoid having too much acidic or sweet snacks, which will increase the chance of tooth decay. The best prevention is to keep the oral area clean after each meal and should have the teeth brushed and use dental floss to help clean and avoid excessive snacking (plum, lemon and tangerine peel), can greatly reduce the chance of food acid damage to teeth.
