Postnatal Intimate Relationship
There are many physiological changes in post-natal maternal mothers, especially changes in the reproductive organs through pregnancy and childbirth trauma; this must take some time to return to normal state. When these organs and tissues have not been recovered fully from the childbirth, it is advice not to have sex at this time. Whether Caesarean section, the natural production or birth canal laceration, these areas will have wounds, of course need to wait until these wounds are healed after should one continue to have intimate relationship. Because pregnancy and childbirth bring a lot of pressure, tiresome, pain, adding to the mother’s physical and emotional upset, these may cause the decrease interest in sex. So the first time to have sex after childbirth should always take cautions, especially aware of the wounded area. Generally speaking, after 8 weeks of childbirth, it is more appropriate to have intimate relationship again.
