Children to be Careful of Home Accidents
In recent years there are numerous serious child accidents at home, bringing children's home safety concerns. Earlier in Hong Kong Paediatric Foundation had survey 70% parents whose children had experienced domestic accidents in the past, and generally parents had a low awareness toward home accident. According to the Hong Kong Paediatric Foundation and Rotary International District 3450, for the last year they had conducted a survey of children at high risk of home accidents, distribute questionnaires through kindergarten, with at least one visit to 1300 children under 6 years of age or parents in Hong Kong and Macau, the survey found that 60% respondents had children aged 3 to 6 is at the risk of domestic accidents, the average number is up to 6 times high. Also have occurred in accidents at home, more than 4 percent of public hospital emergency department for treatment, while 3 percent of them need to be sent to the hospital, of which 2 percent was sent to hospital at least twice.
Child home safety experts said baby's growth development is very much depend on their around environment and experience, but the baby has not yet established risk awareness, the family has a lot of places, products are potentially dangerous, if the situation become serious can even claimed lives. Weekends and holidays are high risk opportunities for children to encounter home injury, experts advise parents to strengthen prevention facilities, regular safety inspections, and to avoid their children being left unattended at home.
