Subsidy Scheme



The Childhood Influenza Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (CIVSS) 2009-2010 will operate from October 2009 to March 2010. All children with Hong Kong resident status between the age of 6 months and less than 6 years or attending kindergarden or child care centre in Hong Kong are entitled to a $80 Government subsidy per dose of seasonal influenza vaccine received from private doctors enrolled in the CIVSS.

 

The influenza winter peak season typically arrives Hong Kong during the first quarter of every year. Pregnant women are at higher risk of developing serious complications from influenza infection.

 

If you are pregnant, the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases recommends you to receive the vaccination to protect yourself from infection and its complications. Vaccination is effective and safe to both yourself and your baby.
