Signs of Labour During the Late Stage of Pregnancy
The pregnant mothers who are about to go into labour may have the following signs: 1. When it comes close to labour, the head of the baby will descend, and the uterus will contract, with an occurrence of regular throe every 10 minutes approximately. If the throe occurs every half an hour only or happens irregularly, you can still wait a little at home, because if the throe goes from once every half an hour to once every 10 minutes to actual labour, it may take around 20 hours. Therefore if the labour pain is not very frequent, you don’t have to rush to hospital. 2. Another situation is bleeding. Observe if the bleeding is accompanied by throe, because it is common that a pregnant mother starts to bleed, but still has to wait 1-2 weeks before labour. Thus, if there is a small amount of blood, but no contraction of uterus, please consult your obstetrician. If you are still worried, you’d better go for a check-up in the hospital. 3. Water Break. Some pregnant mothers cannot distinguish between amniotic fluid and urine. Amniotic fluid appears to be a clear, odourless fluid that flows out unconsciously. If the outflow is vigorous, the mother will notice it. However, if the water break is not continuous, the mother will find it difficult to judge if it is time for labour, and it may cause harassment and delay. It is suggested to pregnant mothers that if the secretion becomes watery, clear and uncontrollable, they should go to the hospital as soon as possible.
