Reduce the risk for sleeping in baby
Sleeping for infants can cause happening to infants less than 1 year old, especially for those 3 to 6 months olds are most common.
A study found that over 30% from infant’s magazine recommended sleeping positions are not safe, for example recommended sleeping on the stomach will increase the chances of infant’s death. Experts suggested the simplest sleeping position is the safest, bed should not allow to put toys or other stuff, since these items might cause suffocation to the child.
Pediatrician points out that there is no need for baby to sleep on a pillow like an adult, since infants sleeping on a pillow can cause suffocation, it is not suggested that under a year old baby should use pillow for sleeping.
Reducing the risk of death: * Mattress should be even and firm, cannot be too soft, do not put infants on sofa or sandbag. * Avoid large blankets or too soft pillow. * Ensure infant don’t fall on the ground, or fall between any gap area. * Infants should not be too thick or too tight clothing. * Infants should be sleeping face up, not lying on their tummy. * Blankets should not be cover over the head. * Do not allow baby to sleep alone on an adult bed. * Do not allow infants to sleep with other elder child or pet. * Keep the room environment air circulate.
