Asian Delight: Eight-Treasure Pumpkin Porridge

ingrediantIngredients:

Directions :

Pumpkin             500g

1.

Wash and drain the ingrediens. Soak, chestnuts, red beans and lotus seeds for 4 hours beforehand.

Glutinous rice     140g

2.

Boil a pot of water and put the glutonous rice, chestnuts and red beans into the hot water and cook for 30 mins.

Chesnut               to taste

3.

Add red dates, dried longan, lotus seeds, dried lily and candied winter melon. Cook for another 30 minutes.

Red bean             to taste

4.

Peel the pumpkin to the nuclear steam for 20 minuted after washing, and then into (3) to burn for 10 minutes.

Red date              to taste

5.

Finally season the congee well.

 Crystal sugar       to taste

 

 

 

Tips:

Lotus seed pith should be removed to avoid bitter taste and red date seed should be removed.

Congee can be served either as hot dish or as dessert.
